🚀 Getting Started
Download & Install
Get Salamly from the Google Play Store or Apple App Store. The app is free with no in-app purchases.
Grant Permissions
When prompted, allow Location access (for prayer times & Qibla) and Notification permission (for prayer reminders). Both are optional but recommended.
Explore the Home Screen
The home screen shows your next prayer time, a daily Quran verse, and quick access to all features. Swipe or use the bottom navigation to explore.
🕌 Prayer Times
View Prayer Times
The home screen displays all five daily prayer times (Fajr, Dhuhr, Asr, Maghrib, Isha) along with sunrise. Times update automatically based on your location.
Choose Calculation Method
Go to Settings → Prayer Times to select your preferred calculation method. Options include Muslim World League, ISNA, Umm al-Qura, Egyptian General Authority, and more.
Enable Notifications
Tap the notification bell icon next to each prayer to enable/disable reminders. You can customize which prayers you want to be notified about.
📖 Reading the Quran
Browse Surahs
Navigate to the Quran tab to see a list of all 114 surahs. Tap any surah to start reading. You can also search by surah name or number.
Read with Translation
Each ayah is shown in Arabic along with your selected translation. You can change the translation by tapping the translation selector in the Quran reader.
Bookmark Ayahs
Tap the bookmark icon on any ayah to save it. Access all your bookmarks from the Saved tab. Tap the bookmark icon again to remove it.
Share Ayahs
Tap the share icon on any ayah. You can share as:
• Text — copies the Arabic text, translation, and a deep link
• Image — generates a beautiful card with customizable translation choices
🧭 Qibla Direction
Open Qibla Compass
Navigate to the Qibla feature from the home screen or bottom navigation.
Calibrate Your Compass
If the compass seems inaccurate, calibrate it by moving your phone in a figure-8 pattern. Make sure you're away from magnetic interference.
Find the Direction
Hold your phone flat and rotate your body until the compass needle points toward the Qibla indicator. The direction is calculated based on the great-circle distance to the Kaaba.
📿 Tasbih Counter
Start Counting
Open the Tasbih feature and tap anywhere on the counter area. Each tap increments the count with haptic feedback.
Reset Counter
Tap the reset button to start a new counting session.
🎨 Customization
Change Theme
Go to Settings → Appearance to switch between light, dark, and AMOLED black themes. You can also choose custom color accents.
Change Language
Salamly supports multiple interface languages. Go to Settings → Language to switch.
🔗 Sharing & Deep Links
How Ayah Sharing Works
When you share a Quran verse, Salamly includes a special link. If the recipient has Salamly installed, the app opens directly to that verse. Otherwise, they see a web page with download links.
Tip: The image share option creates a gorgeous card with Arabic text and your chosen translation — perfect for social media stories and posts!
